MSI GS60 Ghost Pro 3K Edition (2PEWi716SR21) Notebook Review
Thanks to the preinstalled Network Manager, all data usage and transfer speeds can be monitored and analyzed. The same holds true for the CPU. As one of the screenshots below illustrates, the information area of the taskbar is full of programs. It takes some cleanup action before the hardware can play its cards. Whilst I love the full RGB spectrum of colours, the backlight effect at night is note quite as bright as I was expecting and the light does not really pass through the keys them-self to make them easier to see. In the middle of the notebook is the power button with a blue backlight to indicate that the system is powered on. This may only be a simple MSI GS60 2PE Ghost Pro 3K Edition Realtek Card Reader, but it is nice to have a visual indication that the power of the GTX graphics is in force. At the foot of the keypad we have a nice large touch pad with both of the mouse buttons seamlessly blended into the pad.
From left to right we have a sleep state indicator, drive activity, num lock, caps lock, Bluetooth, WiFi and battery charging status. Turning the GS60 over and having a look at the underside we can see that there are no access panels on offer to upgrade the memory or remove the battery — much like we would find on a Ultrabook for example as these add bulk and weight to the system.

Five large rubber feet around the edges lift the system up a little whilst two small grills at either side towards the front show us the true location of the main Dynaudio speakers. On the left hand side next to a sticker covering one of the chassis screws meaning that home memory upgrades will invalidate your warranty we find a MSI GS60 2PE Ghost Pro 3K Edition Realtek Card Reader of badges for the GTX graphics, Win8 and the Sound Blaster Audio. Lifting off the underside of the notebook we can instantly see that no space has gone to waste; the system components and the battery spread out to every corner as much as much as they can. This design principle is what helps to make the Ghost Pro a compact, yet powerful gaming notebook.
The ribbon running over the top of the drive as we see it links the motherboard to the system status LEDs which can be seen at the bottom of the image.
To the left of the drive is the first of four speakers that are placed around the system. Towards the back of the system, between the hard drive and one of the two coolers is the mini PCI-express wireless card. Right round on the rear side of the notebook are MSI GS60 2PE Ghost Pro 3K Edition Realtek Card Reader more Dynaudio speakers which break away from the typical dual-speaker setup that we are used to seeing in a notebook. These additional two speakers are intended to add an audio backfill to the Realtek audio output for a more theatrical output effect, although I have not personally felt that these make much difference over just the two speakers at the front of the notebook. To either side of the notebook in each back corner is a pair of heatsinks with a blower fan for cooling the graphics card and the processor, having the two core components cooled with totally separate heatsinks and fans allows for better thermal performance and ultimately better graphical and processing performance on the front end of the system.
In addition to having separate heatsinks, the orientation of the two blower fans has also be altered. Taking up a fair area of the internal void, the GS60 features a 6-cell mAh battery and due to the build-up of the chassis, this is not a user replaceable part.
Its only when we look at the battery from the side that we can start to appreciate just how slim all the components are inside the notebook. The heatsinks and the hard drive are typically the thickest components that we would find and even then they are not the thick at all. Disconnecting the motherboard from all of the ancillary components and lifting it out we can first of all get a glimpse at the two separate cooling solutions that MSI have developed to keep the GPU and GPU cool.
Tucked up in the corner of the motherboard and just out of shot in the image below are the power delivery components for the m core. The connection was only lost if we left the house. Otherwise, web pages loaded very quickly.
Accessories Besides the power adaptor, a quick start guide and some brochures, there are no accessories in the box. You will have to send the device to MSI.

However, some parts like the battery are only covered for one year. This means neither the advantages nor the disadvantages have changed: The same applies for the lettering, but it looks very futuristic in return.
Travel is short, the pressure point well defined and the keys have grip, all of which are positive features for gamers. Free Download MSI GS60 2PE Ghost Pro 3K GE Realtek Card Reader Driver bit (Card Readers).
